MOMENTUM

Gleny Rae – 2026

Momentum reveals two distinct sides of Gleny Rae. Its first half draws on bluegrass and contemporary folk, while the second moves into country soul with keys, brass, rich vocals and fuller arrangements. Recorded across Alice Springs, Newcastle, Mullaway and Nashville, the ten-track album brings together spirited fiddle playing, thoughtful storytelling and an adventurous mix of musical styles.

Described as Gleny’s “most eclectic” album by the Dorrigo Folk & Bluegrass Festival, Momentum was also selected as a Feature Album by Alice Springs community radio station 8CCC.

Diggin’ A Hole

Gleny Rae – 2018

Rooted in country, bluegrass, Americana and western swing, Diggin’ a Hole moves between heartfelt storytelling, Australian characters and Gleny’s irreverent sense of humour. Songs including Song for Rhonda, Scatter Me, Lady Bushranger and Sorry for Saying F#ck demonstrate her ability to be moving, mischievous and thoroughly entertaining within the same collection.

“What a ripper of an album! … Straight-up enjoyable.”

Beyond Horizontal

Gleny Rae – 2012

Drawing strongly on 1940s and 1950s Americana, Beyond Horizontal blends western swing, bluegrass, gypsy jazz and rockabilly with distinctly Australian stories. Gleny’s expressive vocals and fiddle are joined by Dougie Bull on double bass and Roy Payne on guitar and lap steel, creating a spirited collection filled with humour, heart and accomplished musicianship.

“Virus and her band are onto something special … great songs that are humorous and touching, and never lack instrumental prowess.”
